MCM Bain

This old and very narrow galley bathroom in a 1940's bungalow was calling out for some new luxurious mid century modern touches.

The goal: to transform this dated bathroom into a luxe lavatory and imbue a mid century modern aesthetic with a Toan twist of old world Hollywood regency-surrealism-meets-sophistication feel. To make the small space feel more expansive, I ripped out the tub and tiles and installed a walk in shower with classic subway tiles and a dramatic oversized brass rainfall nozzle shower head. To give the space more texture and feel more spacious, I opted for modern wainscoting coated in a fabulous Behr Marquee limousine leather black paint. The top half of the walls were treated in Behr Ultra White and draws your eyes up to the built in skylight. To give it a splash of sophistication and character, I sourced a Chanel No. 5 replica advert from France and highlighted it in a vintage gilt frame. Hexagon themes can be found peeking out from floor to ceiling - from the curtain rod, brass faucet handles and tiled floors. Inspired by the luxurious Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City. Mission accomplished.
